DaBaby Claims People Tried to Assassinate His Character In ‘Essence’ Freestyle
DaBaby has remixed Essence, by WizKid, and appears to be reference his latest controversy yet again.
The 29-year-old rapper seems to address his public incidents from the past couple of months involving his insensitive and homophobic remarks. DaBaby raps,
“I just feel like, you know, when situations like this present themselves, man, and people try to, you know, assassinate your character, man, assassinate who you are, man, and everything you put that hard work in for, man—sometimes you gotta demonstrate, you know, that’s how I came in. I don’t mind demonstratin’. I don’t mind exercisin’, you dig what I’m sayin’?”
The controversy about his inappropriate HIV comments at The Rolling Loud Music Festival seemed to be dying down since he met with some HIV awareness organizations to learn more about the disease recently. Leaders of the organizations praised him for his willingness to learn and to participate in the discussion.
Although DaBaby hasn’t landed in additional trouble, some fans aren’t feeling the freestyle.

The comments appear to vary because there were a lot of people who really enjoyed the song and defended the freestyle.
