Kandi Burruss Denies Charging Customer For Ice At Blaze Restaurant In Atlanta

Kandi Burruss is on the rocks with Blaze Steak & Seafood customers.

In a now-viral photo posted to Facebook, a man named Ryan Williams shared his receipt from the restaurant expressing how he has visited Blaze twice and has been overcharged each time. According to his receipt, Williams paid $30 for two Hennessys, $15 for a cheeseburger and fries, $8 for a Red Bull, 18% gratuity, tax, and $4 for two ‘rocks,’ totaling out to $72.58.

He continued calling out the restaurant and Kandi Burruss by saying,

“FIX THIS GHETTO A** S***.”

It took no time for the photo to reach Kandi Burruss and her team, who contacted Ryan Williams to clarify the issue.

In a new post via his Instagram account, Williams said he had a “great conversation” with Burruss‘ team and that all the issues were addressed.

The Instagram account for Blaze Steak, and Seafood, also reposted the photo with a lengthy caption saying,

…We have spoken to @mrlawyerup and thanked him for bringing this unfortunate situation to our attention. Being a black owned business , in a community full of other black entrepreneurs, we want to build each other up and use moments like this constructively. We look forward to establishing a great relationship with @mrlawyerup moving forward.”

Denying the claims of charging $2 per ice cube they said,

“For clarity, we do not charge for ice. “Rocks” is bar terminology that pertains to the amount of liquor poured in a drink. This terminology in line with “neat” and “up”. However, we have adjusted this verbiage and removed the charges all together.”

They concluded by saying,

“We pride ourselves on providing a great dining experience to the people in our community and those that travel from far to patronize our restaurants. We appreciate the support of our community and those that continue to provide us with feedback in an effort to better our restaurant group. We will continue to develop our staff with further training and developing. -Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group”

Kandi Burruss also took to her Instagram stories to deny charging for ice.

Back in May, Blaze Steak and Seafood was voluntarily closed due to a failed health inspection.

Together Todd Tucker and Kandi Burruss own several establishments, including Blaze and multiple locations of Old Lady Gang, also known as OLG.
