Reportedly, another friend of Mr. Talley and the president of the Ford Foundation, Darren Walker confirmed in an email that he suffered from several chronic illnesses, including asthma, and contracted covid-19 several days before his death. This news comes as a shock to Talley’s neighbor Barbara Galella who says the fashion icon was “very cautious about Covid”.
According to Galella, she stopped by André Leon Talley’s home about six months ago in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, to share a book from her uncle Ron Galella, a famed paparazzi photographer. Reportedly, Talley came to the door but wouldn’t open it. Galella told sources,
“He was very cautious about Covid..He had the mask on and just said ‘leave the book on the porch.’ So I did..That’s why I’m surprised to read that’s how he passed.”
Talley’s family has yet to confirm if he indeed passed away from coronavirus.
