Don Lemon Cleared Of Sexual Assault Charges After Accuser Drops Lawsuit: My Recollection Of The Events Were Not As I Thought They Were
CNN anchor Don Lemon has had his sexual assault case dropped by his accuser.
N.Y. bartender Dustin Hice accused the political broadcaster of assaulting him after the two met at a bar back in 2018. However, Dustin’s tune recently changed as he dropped the case entirely, months before the suit was set to go to trial. In a motion to dismiss the case, Dustin Hice wrote:
“After a lot of inner reflection and a deep dive into my memory, I have come to realize that my recollection of the events that occurred on the night in question when I first met CNN anchor Don Lemon were not what I thought they were when I filed this lawsuit.”
He concluded:
“As a result, I am dropping the case.”
According to Dustin Hice, after offering to buy a drink for political journalist Don Lemon, the TV personality “put his hand down his pants” and subsequently forced his hand to Dustin’s nose. Dustin claims Don Lemon seemed intoxicated at the time of the incident, and sought $1.5 million in damages.
According to reports, however, Dustin made a mockery of his own case from the jump. Reports state that the bartender was ordered to pay Don Lemon $77,000 in sanctions for interfering with the case. A judge found him guilty of “destroying or at least tampering with evidence and attempting to bribe witnesses”, according to reports.
Don has maintained in innocence in the case and had the full support of his employer throughout. CNN execs cited Dustin’s clear disdain for the news network displayed on his social media pages as reason to falsely accuse Don of assault. Don Lemon was officially cleared of all charges in court, and is awaiting his $77,000 payout from his false accuser.
