It looks like your prayers have been answered and the official release date for “Abbott Elementary’s” second season has been announced!
Viral-internet star turned actress/show creator Quinta Brunson, 32, has become a household name over the past year. In addition to being a co-star on the popular HBO series “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” many people know the entertainer from her work on ABC’s “Abbott Elementary.”

The critically acclaimed sitcom premiered late last year on December 7. Since its release, the show has amassed a huge following and in March of this year, it was renewed for a second season. As excited as fans were when news broke about the series getting picked up again, they have been anxiously waiting for when exactly the new season will be hitting their screens. Today (June 16) ABC announced that the second season of “Abbott Elementary” will drop this fall on Wednesday, September 21. As you may already know, Quinta Brunson doesn’t just star in the comedy series, but she also is the series creator and serves as a producer as well.
