Beyonce Drops New Single “Break My Soul” – Fans Compare Dance Track To Drake’s New Album

On Monday (June 20) Beyonce, 40, surprisingly released “Break My Soul,” the first single from her upcoming seventh studio album “Renaissance” which is due July 29th. Beyonce announced the track just three hours before it was required to drop and left fans excited. The 28 Grammy-award winner provided fans with a disco-fied dance track co-produced by her “Single Ladies” team: Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, and Big Freedia. Her husband, Jay-Z, Adam Pigott, and the writers of Robin S’s “Show Me Love” (which is sampled in the dance track), were also listed in the writing credits.

The 40-year-old singer announces her return and completes the song with dance floor lines:

“I’mma let down my hair ’cause I lost my mind/Bey is back and I’m sleeping real good at night/The queen’s in the front and the Dom’s in the back/Ain’t taking no flicks but the whole clique snapped.”

Beyonce also recites:

“Motivation/ I’m looking for a new foundation/ I’m on that new vibration/ I’m building my own foundation.”

The dance track initially appeared three hours before it’s announced release time on streaming service, Tidal, co-owned by Jay-Z. An hour later it appeared on major streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Vevo, YouTube, etc.

Sources speculate “Renaissance” will feature dance, and country-leaning tracks. Sources also state the long-expected album to have contributions from hit songwriter Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote her hit single “Halo,” and Raphael Saadiq, who arranged hits for Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Stevie Wonder and more.

On Thursday (June 16) Drake dropped his seventh studio album “Honestly, Nevermind” which consisted of 14 house-music tracks that will also bring fans to the dancefloor. Fans on Twitter compared Beyonce’s dance track to Drake’s recent album:
