Coroner Blames Blood Clot & Long Flight On Heavy D’s Death

Last month, at the age of 44, Heavy D (real name Dwight Arrington Myers), collapsed outside of his Beverly Hills home and later died. Initially, it was reported that the cause of his death was pneumonia. Tuesday morning, the report from his autopsy was released, indicating that the cause of death was, a pulmonary embolism, and that he had died from a blood clot in his lung, and also suffered from deep leg vein thrombosis and heart disease. The blood clot is said to be due to his recent trip to London, for the Michael Jackson tribute. Craig Harvey, chief of the Los Angeles County department of coroner explained that the blood clot was,
“”Yes, (the flight) is the connection. He had reportedly been in London for about six weeks and had returned to LA within the preceding week or so.”
The day before Heavy’s death, he had went to a doctor, complaining of flu-like symptoms. Heavy leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter named Xea.
