Wendy Williams’ Ex-Husband Kevin Hunter Says Her Talk Show Ended Because ‘Of The Negligence Of Her Production Company’ When It Came To How ‘Severe Her Health Was’ + Reveals She Needed More Time To Recover After He Had A Child Outside Of Their Marriage
Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter is getting candid about the end of her talk show, and the problems he had with production being negligent to the famed media personality and her well-being.
During a recent interview, Kevin Hunter opened up about his ex-wife’s talk show and the internal struggles she had been facing behind the scenes. He placed blame on the production company (Debmar-Mercury) and stated they did not have Wendy Williams’ best interest at heart. He explained,
“[The show] ended because of the negligence of her production company in regards to realizing how severe her health was; And when you’re in a situation where you just, busy trying to divide and conquer, and remove something instead of focusing on what’s really going on.”
Kevin Hunter then brought up Wendy Williams infamously passing out on her talk show, noting that her condition was not being taken seriously.
“I mean everybody unfortunately got a chance to see her pass out on national television and it was mortifying and you would think after that happened they would have put certain things in place. In some sort of department to deal with any kind of crisis or any kind of help she may really need.”
Kevin then explained the cause of Wendy passing out:
“It was a mixture of thyroid, her thyroid condition, being overworked, dehydration, and just not taking care of yourself……Now luckily, soon after that, with the proper hydration and you know, getting her heart rate stable, she was fine. But it was a scary sign then, and like I said, you would think that from then, they would put certain things in place in case it gets worse.”
Kevin Hunter–who was Wendy’s long-time manager–also expressed how he felt when production had guest hosts step in for the final season of the ‘Wendy Williams Show‘:
“It was real disheartening because most of the people would not reach out to see if you’re doing good. When it becomes a race for the seat, you can’t take it. In any other business you can’t just remove something that was great and just put something else there.”
“When I was there and we was going through some very extreme circumstances, I would try to lend and helping them fill that void properly so it don’t affect the audience or the flow. You know one of those things was Nick Cannon like I suggested that ‘yo go get Nick while we’re down for the count doing this.'”
“In a perfect world, Debmar-Mercury, in the midst of my situation with having a baby and getting through a divorce, with her situation of coming out of a sober house….they did not take or give her the time that a person would need going through the severe amount of crisis.”
