‘The Office’ Star Craig Robinson’s Comedy Club Event Evacuated Due To Active Shooter
An event at a Charlotte, N.C. comedy club was canceled over the weekend due to threats from an active shooter.
According to reports, “The Office” star Craig Robinson, 50, had to cancel his set at a North Carolina comedy club after a gunman opened fire at the venue. The shocking incident occurred Saturday night (July 16) around 9 p.m. EST.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department shared that the male suspect showed off a firearm while inside the building and demanded that everyone exit the premises. Reportedly, after the establishment was evacuated, the gunman opened fire.
Craig Robinson addressed the situation on social media. In a video message shared on Instagram, he said,
“I’m safe.”
He added,
“I’m cool. It was wild I was in the green room and they’re like ‘everybody get out.’ It was a moment for sure.”
In another IG post, he said,

The comedy venue, The Comedy Zone, released a statement as well that said,
“In lieu of the events last night we would like to thank all the amazing people that work day in and day out to make the Comedy Zone what it is. They immediately jumped into action and got everyone safely out of the building.”
The statement continued,
“We would also like to thank the CMPD for their swift response and peaceful resolution to the situation.”
The Comedy Zone also shared that shows for Friday and Saturday would be fully refunded.
