Quinta Brunson Portrays Oprah Winfrey In Upcoming ‘Weird’ Al Yankovic Movie
Quinta Brunson has added a new acting role to her resume.

Recently, it was announced that ‘Abbott Elementary’s’ Quinta Brunson was casted as media mogul Oprah Winfrey in Roku’s ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,’ which stars Daniel Radcliffe, also known as Harry Potter.
The casting announcement followed Quinta Brunson’s, 32, recent accomplishment of becoming the first youngest Black woman to receive three comedy nominations in the same year at the Emmy Awards. The ‘Abbott Elementary’ writer and creator was nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Comedy Series, and Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

On Tuesday (July 19) Brunson shared a picture of one of her looks on set as Oprah Winfrey, 68, alongside Daniel Radcliffe who plays the frizzy-haired musical parodist. Brunson said:
“Let’s get #weird.”

The 108 minute long movie was described as “the unexaggerated true story about the greatest musician of our time.” Actors such as Evan Rachel Wood, casted as Madonna, Rainn Wilson, who plays radio broadcaster Dr. Demento, and Jullianne Nicholson and Toby Huss play Yankovic’s parents, Mary and Nick.
The movie’s, set to premiere on Roku Channel this fall, logline reads:
“From a conventional upbringing where playing the accordion was a sin, Al rebelled and made his dream of changing the words to world-renowned songs come true.”
The logline continues:
“An instant success and sex symbol, Al lives an excessive lifestyle and pursues an infamous romance that nearly destroys him.”
