Meek Mill Plans To Drop 10 Independent Mixtapes Following His Departure From Jay-Z’s Management Company & Claims He’s No Longer Releasing Albums On Friday
Just weeks after announcing that he’s parting ways from Jay Z’s Roc Nation Management, it appears Meek Mill is gearing up to drop new music!
On Wednesday (July 27) Meek Mill, 35, (born Robert Williams) took to Twitter to announce he plans on releasing “10 tapes independently” starting in September, with some new music arriving on Aug. 18, which is the anniversary of Meek’s father’s death. The Philadelphia rapper wrote:
“10 tapes independently starting September. New music dropping August 18 the day my dad died is when I start wylinnnnnnn again! I’m not dropping albums on Friday either!”

Meek then took to Instagram and reshared the tweet. Seemingly excited, he initially captioned the post:
“F*ck it ima take the risk…a million behind every project! All sponsors connected to me or my brand tap in immediately I need y’all for this riskkkk ima take!”

As previously reported, earlier this month the ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ rapper announced that he split from Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Management. Meek Mill has been with the management company since 2012. Reportedly, since his decision to step away from Roc Nation, Meek Mill has been removed from the company’s website and its social media profiles.

Meek wasted no time in explaining his decision to leave Roc Nation Management. In a series of Tweets, he said,
“All I seen today was meek and roc part ways …I’m personally handling my own business so I can take risk and grow ..we came to that agreement together..I have a label deal with roc for my artist and I got reform super tied with them and many other investments wit jigga”

He went on to let fans know there is no bad blood and he is still in good standing with Roc Nation and Jay-Z. Meek Mill explained,
“And roc nation is my family don’t mix my post aimed at Atlantic mixed up with roc or MMG …they ain’t stop nothing I’m doing we made about a 100m together des mike and Hov saved my life b4 And put a lot of energy into it I’m not behind on my favors in life wit my people I’m good.”

Jay-Z has yet to speak out on the Meek’s split from the Roc Nation.
