Jay-Z Responds To LeBron James’ Praise Of His Verse On DJ Khaled’s ‘God Did’: My Goal Is To Make The Real Ones Feel Seen
Jay-Z (real name Sean Carter) is one of the richest and arguably one of the greatest rappers ever — but that wasn’t always the case.
The Grammy-award-winning artist recently detailed his struggles as well as his journey to becoming a billionaire — along with Kanye West, LeBron James and Rihanna — on DJ Khaled‘s track “God Did,” which also features rapper Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, John Legend and Fridayy.
Jay-Z raps,
“Please, Lord forgive me for what the stove did / Nobody touched the billi’ until Hov did / How many billionaires can come from Hov crib? Huh / I count three, me, Ye and Rih / Bron’s a Roc boy, so four, technically (Woo) / I left the dope game with my record clean, huh / I turned the cocaína into champagne, huh / I cleaned up la madrina with the same soap, huh”
During a recent segment on The Beat With Ari Melber, the MSNBC host and hip-hop commentator notes how Jay-Z covers all the bases, including “draconian drug laws.” Ari Melber said,
“There’s nothing automatically legitimate about wine or champagne. It was criminally punished during prohibition, a policy that ultimately fueled gangs and violence, and was the only constitutional amendment ever to be reversed because both parties determined that prohibition was a messy failure.”
In LeBron James‘ opinion, the point definitely didn’t go over Ari Melber‘s head. In a tweet, LeBron James said:
“Listen! Then listen again to make sure you got the point. HOV DID!!!! And so did the reporter! [goat emoji] TALK.”

In response, Jay-Z said,
“My only goal is to make the real “ones” feel seen , forgive me that’s my passion talking ….. haa .”
The “Holy Grail” rapper has been open up about his dealings in drug industry, even recounting how he’s been shot at in close range and lost 92 kilograms of cocaine.
