Kanye Denies Reports He’s Selling His Music Catalog For $175 Million

Kanye West took to Instagram to let his followers know he isn’t behind the sale of his music catalog being up for grabs for $175 million. Kanye West compared his situation to Taylor Swift’s masters being sold to Scooter Braun back in 2020 without her permission. The father of four wrote:
“Just like Taylor Swift, my publishing is being put up for sale without my knowledge. Not for sale.”

Reports that the Grammy-award winning rapper denied stated that he is ready to collect his earnings after being in the hip-hop industry for decades. Billboard stated that the 45-year-old has goals to receiving 35 times the value of his net publisher’s share, whether it’s gross or profit. In total this could add up to a haul of $175 million.

Hypothesis’ declare that the Chicago native gets paid $5 million a year in royalties. He also has a 35% songwriting share on his first four albums with a 20% share on the following projects. The Yeezy founder’s catalog includes four No. 1 hits with 69 hits listed in the Top 40.
