Former ‘SNL’ Star Chris Redd Struck In The Face Amid Attempted Robbery In NYC
A random dude put his paws on Chris Redd in New York City on Wednesday night (Oct. 26).
Witnesses report that the former “Saturday Night Live” star was struck in the face by a stranger and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan for treatment for the deep cut on his nose. The suspect allegedly snatched Chris Redd’s Greg Yuna chain off, in which the links of the chain fell apart on the street. The suspect then took flight, leaving Chris Redd, born Christopher Jerell Redd, to recover the broken chain pieces from the ground.

Law enforcement sources stated that the 37-year-old appeared at the Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village around 9:40 PM, where he was set to perform. When the comedian exited his vehicle that’s when the incident took place. Police have not found what the motive was for the alleged assault, nor have they detained the suspect.
This comes at least a month after Chris made headlines for dating his close friend’s estranged wife. As previously reported, “SNL” star Kenan Thompson’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Christina Evangeline, is in a relationship with Chris.
Kenan Thompson and Chris have been friends for years and have appeared in a few projects together. Reportedly, the “All That” actor isn’t upset about his friend and his estranged wife hooking up. Kenan Thompson and Christina Evangeline were allegedly separated and have been intending to divorce since 2019. The ex-couple share two daughters: Georgia Marie, 7, and Gianna Michelle, 3.
