Broadway Actor Quentin Lee Dies From Colon Cancer At 34 [CONDOLENCES]

Broadway actor Quentin Lee passed away from colon cancer on Tuesday (Nov. 29) morning.

Quentin Lee – who is most known for his portrayal of the phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” – died at the age of 34.

His wife, Angie Lee Graham, announced the news in a post on his Instagram account on Thursday (Dec.1), writing that Lee died in what was “the most beautiful moment” of her life. She wrote,

“I saw his last breaths, held his hand tight, and felt his heartbeat slowly drift away. He had a smile on his face, and was surrounded by those he loves. It was peaceful, and perfect.”

She shared photos of them with their daughter Samantha, calling Lee an

“incredible man, husband, father, son, brother, friend, singer, actor, and disciple of Christ with great faith in his Father in Heaven.”

Quentin Lee announced that he had stage 4 colon cancer on his Instagram account in June. He wrote at the time,

“This year has been a wild ride, I got a chance work with some incredible people at the TONY nominated ‘Caroline or Change’ musical, debut a sold-out Lortel Winner off-Broadway masterpiece, ‘Oratorio for Living Things’, and was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer.”

According to reports, Lee began his Broadway run as the title role in the national tour of “The Phantom of the Opera” in December 2017. He was an understudy in the 2017 Broadway musical “Prince of Broadway” and appeared in the 2021 revival of “Caroline, or Change” before appearing in the Off-Broadway production of “Oratorio for Living Things.”

“The Phantom of the Opera’s” official Instagram account paid tribute to Quentin Lee on Friday (Dec.2), writing,

“The Phantom family is saddened to hear of the passing of Quentin Oliver Lee. Quentin brilliantly lead our North American tour in 2018. Our hearts are with Quentin’s family and friends.”
