Drake Surpasses Eminem, Crowned Highest-Selling Artist in RIAA History
Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) has reached a new height, surpassing Eminem as the highest-selling artist in the history of the Recording Industry Association of America.
According to a tweet by Chart Data,
“@Drake is now the highest certified singles artist in @RIAA history, passing @Eminem (184 million units as a lead).”

The OVO God increased his total number of sold singles to 184 million on Thursday (Dec. 8) by receiving 10 additional RIAA plaques, continuing his streak of record-breaking success.

Eminem (real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III) was previously given the honor in March after selling 166 million copies of all of his singles.

Two diamond certifications for “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance,” marking sales of at least 10 million copies each in the United States, are part of Drake’s historic RIAA haul.
As of right now, Drake is only the third artist in history to have at least five diamond singles. The other three songs to accomplish the feat are “God’s Plan,” “SICKO MODE,” featuring Travis Scott, and “Life Is Good,” featuring Future.
Drake‘s 2018 Scorpion smash “God’s Plan” rocketed to 15x-platinum status on Thursday, solidifying its position as the biggest-selling song in his discography.
Regardless of his new record, Drake has a lot of affection for Eminem, as evidenced by his Instagram postings from 2021 in which he dubbed Em an “under-appreciated” artist.
