Mariah Carey Reportedly Planning To File For Primary Custody Of Twins Shared w/Ex-Husband Nick Cannon
Superstar songstress Mariah Carey is reconsidering what’s best for her children.
A report from Radar Online revealed that the mother of two will allegedly soon ask the courts to give her primary custody of twins Monroe and Moroccan, who she shares with her ex Nick Cannon.

Reportedly, concern over the well-being of the 11-year-olds comes after Cannon, 42, welcomed his 12th child. As we previously reported, the “Wild N’ Out” creator and model Alyssa Scott, who also share late son Zen, celebrated the arrival of a baby girl named Halo last month. Additionally, the entertainer also celebrated 4 other new births last year with models Abby De La Rosa and Brittany Bell (who he separately shares two other children each with), Bre Tiesi, and LaNisha Cole.

Inside sources reportedly claim that Carey, 52, has been happy and amicable with her and Cannon’s previous joint custody agreement. However, with the “Masked Singer” host’s ever-growing family, the musician will soon petition for primary custody. The source reportedly stated:
“The reality of the situation is that Monroe and Moroccan are usually with Mariah anyway. Nick doesn’t see much of them,”

And continued:
“She wants to put him on notice that he can’t just flit in and out of their lives while he attends to his other children. And she wants legal standing as the twins’ primary caregiver.”
The source reportedly added that Cannon is a “doting father” and does attempt to see the kids when he can. Additionally, they clarified that the “Obsessed” singer isn’t trying to punish her ex-husband, but ultimately wants what’s best for their children.

Reports of Carey’s play for primary custody come just a few weeks after she reportedly asked Cannon to “carve out” more time for their children. Shortly after, the father of 12 opened up about feeling guilty that he doesn’t get to spend enough time with each of his kids.

There is no official report on when the petition may be filed, and Cannon has yet to respond publicly to the report.
