Jonathan Majors ‘Walked Out’ Of Initial Meeting w/ Marvel After Execs Kept Him Waiting Too Long: I Grew Up In A Very Particular Way & I Don’t Want To Waste Nobody’s Time
Actor Jonathan Majors almost fumbled his Marvel bag, but we’re glad that he didn’t!
As you may know, the superhero franchise is (officially) releasing its newest film, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ on Friday (Feb. 17).
When speaking of his role as ‘Kang the Conqueror’ in the anticipated cinema, Jonathan Majors opened up about the time he chucked up the deuces during his first general meeting with Marvel, which could’ve led to failed on-screen opportunities with the company.

Reportedly, Jonathan Majors‘ decision to exit the big office was all due to the executives’ tardiness in getting the scheduled appointment started.
“I hope this doesn’t bite me in the a**, but I walked out of my Marvel general [meeting]. This was a long time ago. I had just gotten out of drama school, and I’m running around town, and I’m sitting in [Marvel’s] office.”
According to the 33-year-old, the Marvel employees were occupied elsewhere, and he seemingly didn’t want to be even more of a burden that day. He continued:
“I grew up in a very particular way, and I don’t want to waste nobody’s time. So, I got in there, and they’re just busy. And I was like, ‘I’m supposed to be here, right?’ It got long and I went, ‘I’m just going to go. It’s cool. I’ll just go.'”

But… the stars were obviously meant to align for the Texas-raised trouper because he didn’t even make it out of the building before they stopped him.
“I got to the door, but then they say [casting director] Sarah Finn was going to come. We got in the room, and we chatted. We were having this great conversation. I think it was three years later that we had the Kang [the Conqueror] chat. And there’s no trepidation now, especially because of who Kang is. When I said ‘yes,’ we got the whole picture, and what is being laid out is cohesive.”
Majors’ character, ‘Kang the Conqueror,’ is deemed a “time-traveling multiversal adversary trapped in the Quantum Realm.” He’s an alternate variant of ‘He Who Remains,’ who Majors portrayed in Marvel’s Disney+ series ‘Loki.’
The premise of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ reads:
“Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, along with Hope’s parents, Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, and Lang’s daughter, Cassie, go on a new adventure exploring the Quantum Realm that pushes their limits and pits them against Kang the Conqueror.”

The forthcoming project is the third installment of the ‘Ant-Man’ series.
Majors’ contract with Marvel has also locked him in for 2025’s ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and 2026’s ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ where he’ll reprise his role as ‘Kang the Conqueror.’ The film is reportedly currently in development.
You may be familiar with Majors through his work in ‘Lovecraft Country’ and ‘The Harder They Fall.’ Additionally, he will appear in ‘Creed III,’ slated to hit theaters on March 3, 2023.
