Ice Spice Signs Partnership Deal Under Nicki Minaj’s New Record Label
It looks like Nicki Minaj dropped some major announcements on “Queen Radio.”
According to reports, last night (April 13), during the latest episode of Nicki Minaj’s “Queen Radio” show, the famed rapper (seemingly) revealed the name of her record label. Nicki Minaj was joined by fellow rapper Ice Spice and the ladies talked about music, their careers, plus their new collab, the “Princess Diana” remix.
In addition to (seemingly) announcing the name of her record label, Heavy On It Records, Nicki Minaj hit listeners with even more surprises and shared there’s a new partnership deal her label secured with Ice Spice.
Nicki reportedly said,
“Heavy On It is the label, and I’m proud to announce my partnership with the one and only Ice Spice.”
As previously reported, the 40-year-old rapper announced on “Queen Radio” earlier this year that she now has her own record label. While she initially played coy with the details, she did reveal that she has signed some artists already — Nana Fofie, London Hill Tate Kobang, and Rico Danna. She said,
“When I get behind an artist, y’all know how I do sh*t for people that’s not even signed to me. Imagine what Imma do for the ones that’s signed.”
She then gave her fans an idea of what type of music they can expect to come from the label.
“Don’t think my label is just rap, or Black, or anything. We got some other genres of music.”
During Thursday night’s broadcast, fans were eager to listen to the new “Princess Diana” track. According to reports, the remix debuted as No. 2 on iTunes after being released less than an hour before. Shortly after, it rose to the No. 1 spot.
