Deion Sanders Set To Have Emergency Surgery For Blood Clots
It looks like Deion Sanders is facing yet another medical scare.
According to sports analyst Pat McAfee, Deion Sanders will undergo emergency surgery for a blood clot that is in his groin. Former NFL cornerback Adam Pacman Jones, was a guest on McAfee’s show and revealed the news. According to Jones, Sanders is set to have surgery at 6 AM on Friday (June 23).
Jones said,
“He’s been dealing with this since Jackson State. He had a blood clot in his leg — same thing with the foot. He was thinking about cutting the foot off and he didn’t.. He went through a hell of an operation. I was there… to see him go through that and get back to where he’s at. I just want him to get healthy.”

Jones admitted he cracked a joke in light of the situation.
He said,
“I had a chance to talk to him this morning. But he’s up… I said, ‘Man, I hope they don’t have to cut off your d**ck’.. That’s what I told him, I said, ‘Bro it’ll be bad if they have to cut off your d**ck, bro. Just cut the leg off.’

Sanders, who has had blood clot issues for years previously had two of his toes amputated. According to reports, the Pro Football Hall of Famer was diagnosed with three femoral arterial blood clots, which doctors categorized as life-threatening and left the coach wheelchair bound while coaching at Jackson State.
The news of Friday’s surgery came nearly a week after doctors with the Colorado football team told Sanders he may have to get his left foot amputated.
Vascular surgeon Donald Jacobs told Sanders,
“You just have to understand what the risks are. Things can cascade. He could lose the foot.”
During a recent episode of “Thee Pregame Show,” Sanders revealed that he doesn’t have any feeling on the bottom of his foot. He told doctors that if he needs a procedure, he would like to get it done before the start of the football season.
“I want to do it this summer because when we get rolling, I’m not going to have time to do it. This is the best downtime I have.”
We hope Deion Sanders has a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!
