Jason Derulo Sued For Sexual Harassment, Allegedly Pressured Singer Emaza Gibson To Drink w/ Him On Multiple Occasions & Suggested She’d Have To Participate In Sexual Rituals & Drugs For Success
Pop singer Jason Derulo is facing some serious allegations.
According to reports, the 34-year-old was named in a new sexual harassment lawsuit from an emerging artist who claims her music deal was dropped after she rejected his sexual advances.
Reportedly, 25-year-old Emaza Gibson is accusing the famed singer of luring her into a deal and then pressuring her into drinking and doing drugs in exchange for him working with her. According to the suit, filed earlier today (October 5th), Derulo first noticed Gibson as her singing group Ceraadi began gaining notoriety a few years ago. The band, originally made up of three sisters, amassed over 1 million subscribers on YouTube and has gained social media stardom with their singing and dancing videos.

In August 2021, after the group disbanded, Gibson says the “Watchu Say” singer reached out to her as a solo artist since she was the only one still pursuing a career in music. Though things started off well, the songstress claims she quickly felt she was somewhere she didn’t want to be. During a recent interview discussing the suit, Gibson states:
“I’m at this point in my life right now, it’s very heartbreaking…I have anxiety; I’m traumatized. I’ve dealt with inhumane work situations… I’m at this point where I’m back to zero and I have nothing.”
Gibson says that after agreeing to work on several projects under Derulo, he began making unwarranted requests to hang outside of work. She claims the musician repeatedly invited her for drinks at a “members-only longe” despite her declining for the sake of their working relationship. Allegedly, Derulo then took things up a notch and would pressure her into drinking during their studio sessions. After eventually giving in to the request one night, Gibson says she was given “inappropriately large amounts of alcohol.” Speaking on the situation during the interview, she recalls:
“I told him that I wasn’t a drinker… so it’s like, you know, you’re not listening to that the first time I tell you, and you’re still pushing on me…It’s, like, pressure at this point.”
Additionally, Gibson says it was Derulo’s comment about partaking in “goat skin and fish scales” where she officially drew a line. Reportedly, the young woman says the singer told her she’d have to participate in the strange acts, however, she admits she only partially understood the statement. Gibson says she was aware that “fish scales” referred to a strain of cocaine but learned through subsequent research that “goat skin” was about sex rituals, goat sacrifices, and blood. She says during her interview:
“I’ve never heard about this, and I was trying to find and make sense of what it was, and I came across those articles,”
She went on to claim that she told Derulo she wasn’t willing to sacrifice her morals to gain success, effectively rejecting his requests which she says “turned him cold.” The suit reportedly states that Gibson felt the comment was an “explicit demand for sex-in-exchange-for-success,” and that Derulo outwardly began being aggressive towards her after the rejection. She accuses the pop star of yelling at her repeatedly, and even once with a crowd of witnesses, which included her mother/manager Sandra Bales. In the suit, her lawyers note that Derulo “realized the aggressive manner in which he invaded Plaintiff’s personal space and the inappropriate volume of his voice.”
According to Gibson, at that moment she,
“had to step back … my hand just clutched my chest, because I was, like, I’ve, I’ve never been approached this way by anybody,”
The singer says after that incident, she didn’t hear from Derulo again and that her deal with Atlantic Records, curated through him, ended soon after. Gibson also took a moment to speak on her reasoning behind taking legal action against the singer, stating:
“I’m just trying to fight for what’s right, because what was done to me was not OK…And I wouldn’t want anybody else to go through what I went through.”
There have been no details disclosed about the amount Gibson is seeking from the suit at this time and it does not seem Derulo has responded.
