Diddy’s Lawyers Want Judge To Require Plaintiff Who Claims She Was Raped At 17 To Reveal Her Identity

Media mogul Diddy is fighting one of his many sexual assault accuser’s attempt to keep her name from the public eye.

Reportedly, several motions have been filed in the case involving the musician allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl, including back and forth arguments as to whether or not the plaintiff’s identity should be revealed.

Legal affair’s journalist Meghann Cuniff shared legal motions from the case to her X account (formerly Twitter). In the most recent filing, the plaintiff’s legal team reportedly argued that their client should be able to remain anonymous due to the high profile nature of the case. The lawyers, who also represented Cassie in her bombshell case against her ex Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, wrote:

“Combs and Pierre are public figures and counsel anticipates that the media attention to this case will be substantial,”

Adding:

“The media attention of this action would undoubtedly create a chilling effect on future plaintiffs in similar circumstances should Ms. Doe be forced to disclose her identity.”

As we previously covered, Diddy along with one of his former Bad Boy execs Harve Pierre were named in the lawsuit filed by Jane Doe. The woman claims she was recruited and raped by the media professionals back in 2003. Her complaint comes amid several other sexual assault allegations filed against the hip hop icon as part of the New York Adult Survivors Act, which allowed sexual assault victims who were passed their statue of limitations to file civil suits against their alleged assailants.

According to Jane Doe, she met Pierre in Michigan at the time who put her in contact with Diddy before convincing her to travel with them to New York when she was only 17-years-old. Upon arriving, Jane Doe says she was given a significant amount of drugs and alcohol and was subsequently gang raped by Diddy, Pierre, and a third assailant before she was sent back home alone and traumatized. She is reportedly suing for an undisclosed amount in damages.

Pictures of Jane Doe sitting on Diddy’s lap from the alleged incident have since circulated online, prompting the REVOLT owner to issue a response proclaiming his innocence. Following the most recent allegations, he wrote to his social media account:

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I HAVE SAT SILENTLY AND WATCHED PEOPLE TRY TO ASSASSINATE MY CHARACTER DESTROY MY REPUTATION AND MY LEGACY. SICKENING ALLEGATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AGAINST ME BY INDIVIDUALS LOOKING FOR A QUICK PAYDAY. LET ME BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR: I DID NOT DO ANY OF THE AWFUL THINGS BEING ALLEGED. I WILL FIGHT FOR MY NAME, MY FAMILY AND FOR THE TRUTH.”

Cuniff additionally reported that Diddy’s legal team initially motioned the court to force Jane Doe to release her name in order to move forward with the suit, prompting her attorneys to swiftly object. The plaintiff’s lawyers reportedly added in the recent court filing:

“On December 9, 2023, counsel for Defendants indicated that Defendants do not consent to Plaintiff’s motion to proceed anonymously.”

It does not appear a judge has ruled on the matter at this time.
