Dess Dior’s Father Set To Appear In Court Nearly A Year After Being Held w/o Bail On Felony Rape Charges For The Alleged Sexual Assault Of 14-Year-Old Girl
The father of Atlanta based rapper Dess Dior is facing some serious charges.
According to reports, the celebrity’s dad is gearing up for an upcoming court hearing after spending nearly a year behind bars on sexual assault charges.
Reportedly, police documents show that Destiny ‘Dess Dior’ Bailey’s father Darell Lawrence Bailey, 51, was arrested on February 27th, 2023 and booked at a jail in Georgia. Bailey was hit with 5 charges; including rape, statutory rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, and aggravated sexual battery of a child under 16 years old (a felony). His arrest reportedly stemmed from an incident that happened the previous day involving a 14-year-old girl who was staying in his home with her mother and siblings.
The mother, a woman named Alexis Ellis, reportedly told news outlets that she met Bailey in 2022 when they both worked at a Home Depot. Ellis says she and Bailey grew close, and when she was trying to leave a man she was dating in January of last year he opened up his home to her and her family. They reportedly moved into his residence and things seemed to have been fine. However, Ellis claims that one morning while she was away attending a funeral, Bailey entered the room where her 14-year-old daughter was staying and raped her.
Ellis says the child contacted her immediately after the incident and told her that Bailey left to get pizza. She says she stayed on the phone with her child and called the police, though she arrived before them. When they finally did get there, Ellis says cops took statements and evidence, but did not immediately arrest Bailey, so she stayed with her children in a hotel and blasted cops about the situation online.
On the day of the arrest, Ellis says she was contacted and told Bailey was in police custody and that she could return to the home if she’d like since she had established legal custody there. However, she says when she tried to enter, her fingerprints for access had been removed. The following day, Dess and her brother allegedly came to the property looking to have them permanently removed, though the reality star allegedly offered an “insincere” apology to the victim the day before.
The report notes that as of January 11th, Bailey was still being held without bond. He is reportedly due in court for the charges on the 22nd of this month. It does not appear that Dess has spoken publicly about the situation at this time.
