Nikki Haley Announces The End Of Her Presidential Campaign, Leaving Donald Trump The Presumptive Republican Nominee
The 2024 presidential election is narrowing down to its top two candidates.
Earlier today, GOP runner Nikki Haley announced that she’s officially suspending her presidential campaign, conceding the republican party nomination to her colleague Donald Trump.

In a conference held earlier today (Wednesday, March 6th), Nikki Haley formally addressed the end of her presidential run, stating:
“I am filled with gratitude for the outpouring of support we received from all across our great country, but the time has now come to suspend my campaign,”

She added:
“I have no regrets, and although I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop using my voice for the things I believe in.”
Speaking about her opposition, the former South Caroline Governor wished Donald Trump, and “whoever” wins the election in the end well, continuing:
“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him, and I hope he does that. At its best, politics is about bringing people into your cause, not turning them away. And our conservative cause badly needs more people. This is now his time for choosing. ”

As many news outlets have noted, Haley notably didn’t throw her full support behind Trump as party candidates traditionally do while withdrawing their own campaigns. The two politicians have relentlessly scrutinized one another’s capabilities as the country’s leader throughout this election cycle, and Haley is standing firm in her belief that Trump will need to earn her supporters’ trust, as well as others who generally don’t support him.
Haley’s concession comes as she was grossly defeated by Trump in the presidential primaries, losing the GOP candidate vote to him in 14 of 15 states where voting has been completed. With Haley no longer in the running, many professionals have surmised that the final two nominees will come down to a rematch of Joe Biden vs. Donald Trump. The current US president also swept his party’s primaries, winning the Democratic nomination in all 15 states where voting has been completed.
