‘Gen V’ Season 2 Production Delayed Indefinitely Following Untimely Death Of Series Star Chance Perdomo
Sad news all around for “Gen V” fans.
On Saturday (March 30), news broke that rising actor Chance Perdomo passed away at the age of 27 following a motorcycle accident. Details surrounding the incident are limited at the moment but it’s said no other individuals were involved in the accident. Chance Perdomo first made his TV debut in 2017 as Henry Goodall in the CBBC adaptation of “Hetty Feather.” However, his performance as Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” (2018-2020) really took his stardom to the next level.
Last year, supporters of Chance Perdomo had the opportunity to see him portray Andre Anderson in the hit spin-off of “The Boys,” titled “Gen V.” A few weeks after the series premiered, it was renewed for a second season. Reportedly, the cast was set to come together in Toronto for the first table reading of season two over the weekend, and filming was scheduled to start on April 8.
As you might expect, Perdomo’s passing drastically changed the plan of action. According to reports, production for season two has been delayed indefinitely. In addition to the cast and crew needing time to mourn, writers will now have to figure out how to move forward without one of the series’ main stars. Purportedly, the options are to rework the upcoming season to no longer include Perdomo’s character or recast the role.
Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television released a statement on the shocking news surrounding Perdomo that said,
“The entire Gen V family is devastated by the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television extend our heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance’s family and all who loved him at this difficult time.”

Producers of the series added,
“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”

During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Chance Perdomo’s loved ones and the entire “Gen V” family.
