Halle Bailey To Star In Untitled Pharrell Williams’ Musical Project
Actress/singer Halle Bailey is slated to star in another musical!
According to reports, the 24-year-old has joined the cast of Universal Pictures’ untitled Pharrell Williams and Michel Gondry coming-of-age film. Halle Bailey is no stranger to the world of musicals. She appeared as a choir member, alongside her sister Chloe Bailey, in the 2012 Disney film “Let It Shine.” From there, her part in singing productions only became more impressive. In 2022, the world watched as she graced the big screen as Ariel in “The Little Mermaid.” Then, the following year, Halle Bailey played a young Nettie Harris in the film adaptation of the stage musical “The Color Purple.”
Details surrounding the upcoming movie are limited at the moment. However, reports have revealed that it’s set in Virginia Beach in the summer of 1977 and is inspired by Pharrell Williams’ childhood neighborhood.
In addition, Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph will star in the musical as well, and Michel Gondry is set to direct.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph
Da’Vine Joy Randolph won an Academy Award this year for her performance in the film “The Holdovers.” Same as Bailey, she’s also no newbie to the musical scene. The actress has a theater background, appearing in a few musical stage productions, including the 2012 Broadway production of “Ghost.” She was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance as Oda Mae Brown.
