Xscape Speaks On Alleged Legal Drama w/ Estranged Group Member LaTocha Scott & Moving Forward As A Trio

As the old saying goes, “The show must go on!”

During a newly aired interview with The Breakfast Club, the ladies of the iconic girl group Xscape were joined by fellow singers SWV to chat about their joint tour, reality series, personal lives, and more! theJasmineBrand exclusively reported in March that the two legendary singing groups were taking their talents on the road together. The Queens of R&B Tour is set to kick off on June 27 and run until August 18. The music event will also feature Total, 702, and Mýa.

However, as you probably know by now, estranged Xscape group member LaTocha Scott won’t join the talented women for the highly anticipated tour. As we’ve been covering, the Atlanta native hit a rough patch with the other Xscape members, and some of the drama even played out on their Bravo reality series last year.

Viewers watched as Kandi Burruss, Tamika Scott, and Tiny Harris seemingly tried to work things out with LaTocha Scott. However, after season one ended, things between them didn’t improve, and LaTocha ultimately stepped away from the group. When asked about the lawsuit LaTocha reportedly filed against them, Kandi Burruss explained during their latest interview,

“She didn’t file a lawsuit against us, she sent a letter to Mona [Scott-Young].”

Tameka “Tiny” Harris added,

“I think it was more of a scare tactic, and again, it didn’t work. We kind of already knew our rights.”

For those who may be unaware, Mona Scott-Young’s production company is one of the driving forces behind The Queens of R&B Tour and SWV & XSCAPE: The Queens of R&B reality show.

Elaborating on where they currently stand with LaTocha, Tiny continued,

“We don’t really have a personal relationship [with LaTocha.] We don’t really speak. I don’t even think we have her number. …We’re just going on, moving…we’re just doing our regular degular thing.”

Addressing how they managed to move on from someone who was like a sister to them, Tamika Scott (LaTocha’s blood sister) spoke on behalf of the group and said,

“Life is good, sometimes you have to separate in order for certain people to know your worth. And until they know it, you’ll just be separated, but life goes on.”

Clarifying if they feel guilty touring without their fourth member, she added,

“When you’re not in the wrong, you don’t feel guilt.”
