Kyle Richards Reveals Estranged Husband Mauricio Umansky Moved Out While She Was Out Of Town: ’That Was Weird’

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and her husband of 28 years, Mauricio Umansky, are one step closer to being over.

Kyle Richards revealed in a candid conversation on the “Bitch Bible” podcast Tuesday (May 14), that Mauricio Umansky moved out of their marital home while she was out of town. She returned home to an empty house and expressed,

“That was weird. I always knew when that day came it would feel strange. Very real all of a sudden. And that’s exactly what happened.”

The 55-year-old reality star further detailed her experience, saying,

“I’m used to having a lot of chaos and stuff going around at my house. The day that he moved out was just strange because I came home and I was like, ‘everything’s so quiet.’ I was like ‘where is everybody, what’s going on?’ And it just sort of dawned on me.”

She continued,

“I had been away and he did this while I was out of town, which is the smart thing to do. I had said I didn’t want to be there to see that. So it was just strange.”

Despite the adjustment, Kyle Richards emphasized the pride she holds in the family they’ve built together:

“For me, it was my biggest accomplishment. I came from a home that was broken. My mom was married many times. So I was very proud of my marriage and the family we built. It was hard for me to finally get to a place where I could say this is a success no matter what.”

Richards also highlighted the amicable relationship she maintains with the Buying Beverly Hills star, noting their recent family appearance at the “Stagecoach” country music festival:

“I am very proud of the fact that we get along and we can still do things like that as a family because we are a family no matter what.”

During season 13 of “RHOBH“, viewers witnessed Richards grappling with the end of her marriage. She revealed that the death of her best friend, Lorene Shea, by suicide in 2022, prompted her to reevaluate various aspects of her life, including what she was willing to accept in her marriage.

She explained,

“It’s not like there was one big thing … We do love each other very much and have a lot of respect for each other, so that makes it even harder to make a decision like that.”

The couple share three daughters: Alexia Simone, Sophia Kylie, and Portia. Richards also has a daughter, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, from a previous relationship.
