Superstar Ashanti was surrounded by love this Mother’s Day!

The soon-to-be mother of one shared with her 8.5 million Instagram followers today (May 16) how her family and loved ones celebrated her over the weekend as she prepares for motherhood. Captioning adorable images of her fiancé, rapper Nelly, and both their families alongside her, Ashanti wrote,

“This Mother’s Day was so special… having our families together as we are about to embark on such an incredible journey was amazing.”

She continued,

“Wishing all of the amazing Moms and Moms to be a beautiful Mother’s Day/ Pre Mothers Day!!!!! #grateful yeah yeah I know I’m late… it was so much food I got distracted Ps… I only had 1 plate tho”

The post also featured a video of Ashanti showing off several beautiful floral arrangements she called her “pre-Mother’s Day flowers.”

As previously reported, Ashanti confirmed that she was carrying her first child last month. She also revealed that she’s engaged to Nelly. Their forthcoming bundle of joy will be the latest addition to the “Ride Wit Me” artist’s fatherly duties. He’s already a dad to two (adult) children from a previous relationship and also adopted his niece and nephew following the death of his sister in 2005.
