Pharrell Appears To Respond To Drake Diss On New Song ‘Double Life’: Some Of Your Dirt Has Come To Light
Looks like Pharrell issued a subtle response after previously being dissed by Drake.
The hit-maker’s new song “Double Life” has been being dissected since it was released, with many speculating that record is a shot at the Canadian rapper.

On the song released this past Friday (June 14th) as part of the Despicable Me 4 soundtrack, Pharrell performed the lyrics:
“Hey, what are you hiding? / What you do when you’re gone? / Nothin’ wrong bein’ private/ Make sure it ain’t wrong / Your life double-sided / Two-faced like coins / What side do I get? / What side are you on?”
He continued:
“So what have you done? / Some of your dirt has come to light …Lie detector time / Do you feel bad when you lie?”
While Pharrell didn’t name drop Drake, it’s been widely speculated that the song is a response to the “Hot Line Bling” artist mentioning him during his recent beef with Kendrick Lamar. If you recall, Kendrick Lamar rapped a line where he declared that he was inheriting Pharrell‘s continued silent beef with Drake, prompting the Toronto native to dare Lamar to come get Pharell’s jewelry out of his home.

Pharrell and Drake’s issues go back further than this year, however. As you may know, the two have been at odds since Pharell’s close friend Pusha T engaged in a rap feud with Drake back in 2018. Seemingly feeling slighted by the “Happy” singer choosing a side, Drake took aim at Pharrell several times since, most famously rapping on Travis Scott’s 2023 song “Meltdown”:
“I melt down the chains that I bought from yo boss/ Give a f**k about all of that heritage s***/ Since V not around, the members done hung up the Louis/ They not even wearing that s***,”

The lyric saw Drake flexing the fact that he purchased some of Pharrell’s multi-million jewelry that was auctioned off, as well as took a shot at Pharrell succeeding late designer Virgil Abloh as Louis Vuittion’s new menswear creative director. It does not appear that Drake has responded any further at this time.
