Kendrick Lamar’s Drake Diss Track ‘Not Like Us’ Could Win Grammy, Says Recording Academy CEO
Kendrick Lamar’s diss track aimed at Drake could win a Grammy award!
TMZ caught up with Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. at LAX, where he commented on the possibility of Kendrick Lamar’s controversial diss track Not Like Us receiving a Grammy nomination.

Harvey Mason Jr.
He acknowledged the song’s impact and artistic merit, stating,
“Obviously it’s a hot record. It’s amazing artistry, great writing. The talent on that record, it’s incredible.”
He continued,
“You got an artist that’s been nominated before. Kendrick has been successful with the organization. I don’t see a reason why it couldn’t be [nominated]. It’s all about the quality of the record. It’s really about the members. If the members like it, then it’ll be nominated.”
When pressed about Not Like Us being a diss track that includes some bombshell lyrics targeted at Drake, Harvey Mason Jr. again emphasized the academy members’ appreciation for artistic excellence, stating,
“The voting members in the academy appreciate greatness. They appreciate what’s hot, what’s going on … I’d like to believe that the academy members recognize that and they vote appropriately.”
Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar has stirred controversy with its direct lyrical shots at Drake, including allegations of child sexual abuse.

The song’s lyrics include the lines:
“Say, Drake, I hear you like ‘em young / You better not ever go to cell block one / To any b**** that talk to him and they in love / Just make sure you hide yo lil sister from him”
Later in the track, Kendrick rapped:
“Certified lover boy, certified pedophiles”
The track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has maintained its popularity, notably with a performance by Lamar at the Kia Forum in LA where he performed the song five times at his Juneteenth pop-out concert to an enthusiastic crowd including celebrities like LeBron James and Rick Ross.
