Mase & Cam’ron Get Into Heated Online Exchange w/ Boxer Shakur Stevenson Following His Social Media Rant Criticizing Their Sports Commentary

Boxer Shakur Stevenson didn’t hold back in response to rappers-turned-podcasters Mase and Cam’ron after they criticized his recent performance against Artem Harutyunyan in a boxing match.

Shakur Stevenson, 27, faced sharp criticism from the Harlem duo during their sports podcast It Is What It Is, where they questioned his fighting style and performance.

Mase, 48, bluntly expressed his disinterest in Shakur Stevenson’s fights:

“I don’t want to see Shakur fight, I’m just going to be honest. No disrespect to Newark but I don’t want to see Shakur fight nobody. For him to be hanging out with Terence Crawford and Andre Ward, there is absolutely no way that he’s fighting the way he’s fighting.”

He continued,

“He just needs to accept he’s a defensive fighter. He’s not an offensive fighter … He’s gotta get some offense and he’s gotta get some strength in his hands.”

Cam’ron noted that he tuned into a few rounds of Stevenson’s fight and observed audience members booing and walking out the venue:

“I got home, seen the 11th, 12th round and saw n***** walking out. Them n***** was booing! I’m like, ‘Yo, you’re at home [in Newark] and they’re booing you.’”

Cam’ron also expressed relief that he didn’t watch the entire match.

In response to the criticism, Stevenson took to X (formerly Twitter) to target Mase’s rap career:

“N**** more famous for his podcast then his failed career.”

Stevenson also called Mase a fake pastor and brought up his connection to Diddy, whom Mase worked with on his initial albums under Bad Boy Records:

“Mase was a fake pastor, surviving Diddy a** n****.”

Stevenson followed up with a series of tweets expressing his lack of respect for Mase and Cam’ron, criticizing their sports commentary, and once more disparaging their music careers:

Mase and Cam’ron responded through their show’s official Instagram account, defending Mase’s rap career and posting photos of the duo “sleeping” while a Shakur Stevenson fight played on the television in the background.

The podcasting duo also dedicated their show the next day to address Stevenson’s critique of their transition from rap to podcasting.

Cam’ron stated,

“We make more money than you n****. We sit here and make more money than you! We might have job for you n****.
