Tinks Says ‘It Took A Lot Of Maturity For Me To Get In That Booth’ While Reflecting On Working w/ Hitmaka Following Their Breakup
R&B songstress Tink is getting candid about what it was like working with her former boo Hitmaka following their split.
During a newly aired interview with The Breakfast Club, Tink, real name Trinity Laure’Ale Home, 29, discussed her recently released project Winters Diary 5. Speaking specifically on how her music and personal relationship with Hitmaka, real name Christian J. Ward, 38, played a part in the album’s creation, Tink stated:
“I feel like the entire album is, could relate to him or to any man, you know what I mean? I purposely waited to drop this album so that it wasn’t 14 songs about one person.”
“If you know our history, we went through a lot of turmoil. So there’s a bit of him in a lot of these lot of these records.”

Tink and Hitmaka have had an ongoing professional relationship for quite some time. The producer has worked with the singer since her 2021 summer-themed album, Heat Of The Moment. While it was speculated that they shared a romantic connection, their relationship was only confirmed after Tink made the allegations against Hitmaka.

However, Tink said that she’s since worked on herself and was able to grow past the incident, sharing in the interview:
“It took a lot of maturity for me to get in that booth and for us to come to agreement on these songs. We had hard days where he had to walk out and that’s just what it is.”

She added:
“I had to take the emotion out of it and we were already in a contract, so there were obligations and that’s what I think the world doesn’t know…it took a lot of maturity to say ‘Hey, I’mma go in this booth [and] I’mma do my best today.'”
“I mean in reality we do work together, we do business together, so we have ups and downs, it’s a crazy relationship. But the reality of it is that we haven’t like, been intimate or been in that type of vibe for d*mn near a year now.”
