Kodak Black Criticized After Telling Florida Youth Football Team ‘Say No To Drugs, They’re Too Good’
Kodak Black is making headlines for his recent visit to a youth football team in Florida, where he delivered a memorable message.
In a brief but impactful speech, the 27-year-old rapper urged the young players to:
“Say no to drugs, they’re too good. Y’all going to like them and go crazy.”
Coaching the boys on the importance of teamwork, Kodak Black continued:
“You have to go to school to play football; you’ve got to have your education. That’s how you learn about teamwork and brotherhood. Team means ‘together everyone achieves more.’ Ain’t no one bigger than the team.”
Kodak’s appearance at the event included more than just words. He gifted a young player named RJ with a flashy chain and a skull-and-rose bandana.

However, his visit wasn’t without controversy as Kodak was seen holding what appeared to be a bottle of liquor and had a joint or cigar tucked behind his ear during the event.

The rapper’s appearance and speech have sparked a variety of reactions on social media. Some X (Formerly Twitter) users appreciated Kodak’s straightforwardness:
“Being straightforward is what’s needed. Being politically correct ain’t the right move no more. Love it!”

However, others criticized the message, arguing that Kodak’s comments on drugs were inappropriate:
“Smh, telling kids drugs are ‘too good’ and they’ll ‘like them too much’ insane.”

Kodak Black has previously shared his struggles with substance abuse. Last month, he went live on Instagram to discuss his efforts to stay sober, revealing,
“I’m sober for the most part. I say this around my people so they know that I can talk about it now, you feel me? Now I can wait a few days… I’m more proud of myself. I ain’t saying I couldn’t have; it was just like a n**** was scared to be sober.”
He added,
“That’s motivation for n***** to feel like if the Gremlin could do it […] Y’all could do it.”
Kodak’s honesty about his substance abuse issues followed his 2023 arrest for possession of cocaine, which was later identified as oxycodone.
