Mariah Carey Slammed For Allegedly Ignoring Late Sister’s Attempt To Reconcile Before She Passed Away

A close friend of Mariah Carey’s late sister Alison Carey claims he tried to reach out to the superstar before her sibling passed away.

According to a recent report from The Sun, a man named David Baker said Mariah Carey’s estranged sibling desperately wanted to reconnect upon realizing her death was coming. However, the Grammy Award winner, 55, allegedly refused to acknowledge his attempt to reach her.

He stated:

“Back on August 3 – after Alison was on home hospice care and knew she would die – she told me she wanted to speak to Mariah ‘before it’s too late’…I told her I had no phone number for her sister, but there might still be a way to get a message to her.”

Baker said he subsequently posted a message on X in hopes that it would reach Mariah Carey, writing:

“A sad ending to a tragic life. @mariahcarey’s ‘ex’ sister now receiving home hospice care.”

Unfortunately, Baker claimed neither Mariah nor anyone from her team reacted to the news, adding:

“The tag would have brought the tweet to her attention and given her a way to reply. But there was no response…Mariah says her heart is broken at losing her sister…Alison also was saddened by not being able to connect with Mariah as her life was about to end… there was a last opportunity to grant Alison her years-long wish.”

As we previously covered, Mariah revealed that Alison – who was 63 at the time of death – and her mother Patricia both tragically passed away on August 26.

Despite writing a touching tribute to her sibling, the “Hero” songstress was not speaking to Alison before she passed. According to Mariah’s memoir, this was because of her sister’s alleged drug addiction and violent abusive nature.

The book also touched on their father’s “dying wish” for them to reconcile. However, Mariah insisted that she had to stay away from her sibling for her own health and safety.
