Garth Brooks Sues Sexual Assault Accuser For Defamation + Names Her In Court Docs

Garth Brooks isn’t backing down!

The country singer filed a lawsuit against his former hairstylist who accused him of sexual assault and battery. Garth Brooks later slammed her claims as an attempt at extortion and a money-grab, but now he’s taken it a step further.

He is now suing the woman, who filed the lawsuit under the pseudonym Jane Roe, for defamation and emotional distress, according to USA Today. He went as far as name-dropping the woman, whose identity was initially concealed.

Roe’s attorneys, Douglas H. Wigdor, Jeanne M. Christensen and Hayley Baker, called out Brooks for naming her in his filing. They told the outlet,

“Garth Brooks just revealed his true self. Out of spite and to punish, he publicly named a rape victim. With no legal justification, Brooks outed her because he thinks the laws don’t apply to him. On behalf of our client, we will be moving for maximum sanctions against him immediately.”

Wigdor added,

“He is far from the victim of a shakedown and in fact offered millions of dollars to keep this matter from becoming public.”

However, Brooks’ legal team responded and doubled down on the lawsuit, calling his filing “self-explanatory.”

Do you think Brooks should have named his accuser? Comment and let us know.
