Bath & Body Works Apologizes After Controversial Candle Design Sparks Outrage
Bath & Body Works is facing backlash after a candle called “Snowed In” sparked controversy for its packaging, which many claimed resembled Ku Klux Klan hoods.
The 3-wick candle briefly appeared for sale on the company’s website before being swiftly removed. The design was intended to depict a snowflake cut from paper, featuring white cone-shaped edges with two holes cut out near the center.
In response, a Bath & Body Works spokesperson stated,
“We apologize to anyone we’ve offended and are swiftly working to have this item removed and are evaluating our process going forward.”
