Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Ke’Younte Penn and Ja’Karter Williams, whose lives were tragically taken in the most horrifying circumstances. ????????
Lamora Williams, the Atlanta mother responsible for the horrific deaths of her two young sons, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In October 2017, Williams, then 24, “knowingly and intentionally” placed her sons, Ke’Younte, 2, and Ja’Karter, 1, inside an oven, turning it on and causing their deaths. Authorities found the children’s bodies severely burned in their home.
Following the crime, Williams lied to a 911 dispatcher, claiming she had come home to find her children dead and their caregiver gone. She also sent chilling footage of the scene to the boys’ father, Jameel Penn, who quickly called 911 himself.
Despite maintaining her innocence and pleading not guilty, a jury found Williams guilty of 14 charges, including felony murder, cruelty to children, and making false statements. She was sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus an additional 35 years.
