According to a report from PEOPLE, the “Believe” songstress shares that she and Tina became friends after Tina and Ike came to perform on The Sonny & Cher Show back in the day.
The 78-year-old recalls in the book a time when Tina once broke down while asking her for makeup to cover bruises from Ike.

Afterward, Cher says Tina wanted advice on how she left Sonny Bono, whom she married in 1969 and divorced in 1975, and claims in her book that he once “manhandled” her.
Sharing her response to Tina, Cher writes:
“I looked at [Tina] and told her, ‘I just walked out and kept on going.’”
She reportedly adds that she didn’t see Ike “smile one time” while they filmed together, noting the musician played the guitar “without any emotion.”
Throughout her career, Tina, who passed away back in 2023 at the age of 83, was very vocal about the abuse she faced while being married to Ike, who passed in 2007 at the age of 76.
The musicians wed in 1962 and divorced in 1976. They performed as the Ike & Tina Turner Revue during the late 60s and 70s.
Cher: The Memoir, Part One, was released November 19.
