Tina Turner’s Daughter-In-Law Planning For Baby w/ Late Husband Ronnie Thanks To ‘Very Nice’ Sperm ‘Gift’ He Left Her

The late Ronnie Turner just might have a posthumous child!

Despite the son of legendary musicians Ike and Tina Turner tragically passing away last year, his wife Afida shared she has plans to expand their family with the “gift” he left for her.

During a recent interview, French singer Afida Turner reportedly revealed that her late husband froze his sperm for her as a birthday gift prior to his passing. As previously reported, Ronnie Turner passed away on December 8th, 2022 after being diagnosed with colon cancer. He was 62 at the time of his death.

Afida shared that despite Ronnie’s lifelong battle with drug addiction, he was three years sober as of last November and was ready to grow their family. Now, she plans to honor him by carrying his child, which she hopes to do through IVF treatments. Excited about the big news, the songstress stated during the interview:

“I’m going to have Ronnie’s baby!…If I can, – I’m 46. But we’ll see.”

Continuing, Afida expressed her desire to use Ronnie’s seed to become pregnant before her birthday in December. Slightly conflicted about the idea of becoming a first-time mother without her partner, she continued:

“It’s still bad because he’s not here, but what can I do?”

Adding:

“At least I will have a little one that looks like Ronnie. A monster like me and him, can you imagine?”

Afida and Ronnie reportedly met in 2005 during a studio session where his half-brother, Ike Turner Jr. was the engineer. Ronnie — the only shared son of Ike and Tina — was reportedly brought in to play bass and sparked an immediate connection with Afida.

Despite their chemistry, and sharing a “magic kiss” in the studio, however, Afida said she initially turned down Ronnie’s proposal that they exclusively date because of his “crazy” lifestyle. As you may recall, Ronnie was arrested several times on drug-related charges throughout his life

The “Crazy About You” singer recalled rejecting Ronnie, telling him at the time:

“I will not be with you if you’re still doing all that kind of rock and roll lifestyle, smoking and stuff like that…So I said, ‘No, we’re just going to be friends.'”

However, it seems Ronnie knew he had found the one. The two got engaged a few months into their romance and married in 2007. According to Afida, integrating into her husband’s family went very smoothly. The entertainer said she was well-liked by both Ike and Tina, who were both “straight-up” kind of people.

Afida’s connection to the family surely played a role in the devastation she’s been left with since losing her husband and mother-in-law. Just six months after the death of her son Ronnie, Tina died at 83 of natural causes on May 24th of this year. Following their transitions, Afida said she remains tormented by the loss of her loved ones. She explained during the interview:

“It was very sad that Ronnie passed, and then his mom passed six months after. It is very difficult for me because people only see the music or the pictures, but I go back home and scream the names of my loved ones. [That pain] will never go away,”

She added:

“I’m still very depressed and thinking about very bad, dark, bad stuff…You don’t want to go through this in life. You have to talk to God, otherwise you go nuts and kill yourself. I’m suffering and my heart is destroyed. I’m trying not to lose my mind.”

However, the musician noted she’s able to find some comfort through her music and travels, but mostly at the thought of carrying Ronnie’s child someday, stating:

“Ronnie left me a very nice gift…He was a big character with big energy and craziness who was perfect…I won’t ever find another man like that in my life.”
