Tina Turner’s Son Ike Jr. Released From Jail Nearly 3 Months After Attempting To ‘Eat Drugs’ During Traffic Stop

Ike Turner Jr. has finished serving his jail time.

According to a report from RadarOnline, the adopted son of the late Tina Turner was released from police custody last month after making a desperate move to hide drugs from authorities.

As previously covered, Ike Turner Jr., 64, was arrested on May 6th in Alvin Texas, and charged with drug possession and tampering with evidence. The musician was reportedly stopped for an “equipment violation,” allegedly over broken head and tail lights. However, things took a turn after police reportedly noticed he had attempted to ingest a substance in a last-ditch effort to hide his illegal drugs. A vehicle search resulted in authorities finding 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and .7 grams of methamphetamine.

Reportedly, there was a female passenger in the car who was arrested alongside Ikr Jr. and also charged with drug possession.

After a reported 79 days behind bars, legal documents obtained by Radar revealed the celebrity son was released on July 24th. It’s noted that the time served was in connection to the drug charges and that the tampering charges were dropped.

Ike Jr.’s arrest came just a few weeks before the sudden death of Tina Turner. As we previously reported, the “Queen of Soul” passed away at the age of 83 in her home in Switzerland on May 24th. Although the “Proud Mary” singer reportedly battled a “long illness,” it was subsequently revealed she died of natural causes.

As far as the children of Ike Sr. and Tina go, Ike Jr. is one of two of the former bandmates’ last living offspring. Tina’s eldest son, Craig, died by suicide back in 2018. He was born to the Grammy Award winner during her relationship with Kings of Rhythm saxophonist Raymond Hill in 1958. He was later adopted by Ike Sr.

The only son biologically shared between Ike Sr. and Tina, Ronnie Turner, passed away in December 2022, following a battle with colon cancer.

Ike Sr.‘s other son Michael, who he shared with ex Lorraine Taylor along with Ike Jr., also adopted by Tina, remains living to date as well.
