Lil Durk’s Lawyers Blast Prosecutors For Using Rap Lyrics As Evidence

Lil Durk’s Lawyers Blast Prosecutors For Using Rap Lyrics As Evidence
Lil Durk’s attorneys argue that prosecutors’ attempt to use his lyrics as evidence shows they have no real case against him.
In a recent statement to TMZ, the lawyers for Lil Durk, real name Durk Banks, 32, slammed the feds for using the rapper’s lyrics in his murder-for-hire plot case, saying:
“When you see an artist’s rap lyrics quoted as ‘evidence’ against them, it’s a glaring indication that there is no real evidence against that person.”
They added:
“The claims in the indictment against Mr. Banks are false and lack the most basic due diligence. The real truth is that Durk Banks is a Grammy Award-winning artist, a dedicated father, and a loving husband.”

Prosecutors reportedly claim that lyrics from Durk’s 2022 single “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy” outline the steps taken to kill his rap rival Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson. In the song, Durk raps:
“Told me they got an addy (gooo) / Got location (gooo) Green light (go, go, go, go, go) / Look on the news and see your son, You screamin’, ‘No, no’ (p***y!!!)”
However, Durk’s legal team argues that quoting rap lyrics as evidence shows the prosecutors have no concrete evidence against him.
