Justin Combs Shares Throwback Of Diddy Highlighting His Struggle Working w/ Cîroc & Corporate Pushback Against Successful Black Entrepreneurs
Justin Combs recently shared a throwback video of his father, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, discussing the challenges he’s faced as a successful Black entrepreneur.
In the video, posted to Justin’s Instagram Stories, Diddy spoke about his initial struggles working with Cîroc. He highlighted how corporate America often seeks to limit the success of Black entrepreneurs, stating:
“I always came up against this ceiling that they just wanted to keep me in the colored section.”

Earlier this year, Diddy and Cîroc (owned by Diageo) officially parted ways after he filed a lawsuit against Diageo, alleging racial discrimination. Diddy claimed that the company neglected his Cîroc brand, treating it as an “urban” product and failing to invest adequately in its marketing and distribution due to his race.
The legal dispute resulted in a settlement, with Diddy withdrawing his lawsuit and Diageo becoming the sole owner of Cîroc, effectively ending their business relationship.
Later in the video, Diddy asserted that once a Black entrepreneur achieves a certain level of success, corporate America’s “jealousy” and “fear” often lead to efforts to “burn things down.”
Diddy is currently in custody, awaiting his 2025 trial on multiple sex trafficking and abuse charges.
