Vybz Kartel Announces First Performance Since Prison Release, Promises ‘World-Class’ Show
Vybz Kartel is returning to the stage after being acquitted of m*rder charges earlier this year.
The Jamaican dancehall legend, who spent 13 years behind bars, will perform on New Year’s Eve at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Kartel emphasized the significance of the event, telling The New York Times,
“A whole generation of people have never seen Vybz Kartel perform.”

Promising a “world-class” show, he likened the performance to an NFL Super Bowl halftime show, saying, “It’s an experience you don’t want to miss.”
This performance marks his first since being released in July 2024 following the overturning of his 2014 conviction for the 2011 m*rder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
