‘The View’ Set To Expand To Weekends w/ Lighter, Pop-Culture-Focused Segments Starting Jan. 11
ABC News is giving “The View” fans even more to enjoy with the debut of “The Weekend View” premiering on January 11!
This new half-hour weekend segment will air on ABC News Live and feature the show’s popular Friday panel: Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro.
The weekend edition will offer a deeper dive into the week’s top stories, with an extended “Hot Topics” segment and highlights from the show’s “Behind the Table” podcast.
Karin Gilford, senior vice president of Digital Media, ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks, stated about the new edition:
“It’s an opportunity for us to extend the conversation, give viewers more of what they love from the connection they feel for the show.”

Gilford added:
“We really think ‘Weekend View,’ in addition to what we’ve done on podcasting — we’ve always had a great short form and social presence for the show — is kind of the next frontier.”
Aimed at bringing a more relaxed, lifestyle-focused vibe, “The Weekend View” will cover pop culture alongside the usual hot topics but with a lighter tone compared to the weekday show. The series will premiere at 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays and run throughout the weekend.
