Drake Withdraws Petition Against UMG & Spotify That Claims They Illegally Inflated Success Of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’
Drake has dropped his petition against Universal Music Group and Spotify, which accused the companies of using bots and Payola to illegally boost the success and popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track.
Drake and his company Frozen Moments, LLC filed a Withdrawal Order of petition with the Supreme Court on Tuesday, January 14.
Spotify, which had filed an opposition to Drake’s initial petition, had no objection to the withdrawal. UMG, which had not filed an opposition, reserved its position on the ordeal after denying Drake’s claims.
Meanwhile, the petition between UMG and iHeartMedia is scheduled for Jan. 28 for now.
