Rudy Giuliani Settles Defamation Case w/ Georgia Election Workers, Retains Property But Provide Compensation
Rudy Giuliani has settled a defamation lawsuit with Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, ending a lengthy legal battle over his false statements following the 2020 election.
The settlement, which avoids a $150 million judgment, allows Rudy Giuliani to keep his home and valuable assets, including his New York City apartment and Florida condo. Freeman and Moss, who were awarded several of Rudy Giuliani’s prized possessions, including his $6 million Manhattan apartment, will now receive compensation and his promise not to defame them again.
“The past four years have been a living nightmare,” Freeman and Moss stated, calling this a major milestone in clearing their names.
Giuliani, in a post on Twitter, acknowledged the settlement but did not admit to liability or wrongdoing, urging all parties to avoid defamatory statements. Despite his estimated $10 million net worth, Giuliani’s debts to Freeman and Moss were unlikely to be fully repaid. His attorney declined to comment on the settlement details, including whether any money was involved.
Giuliani, who has faced physical health issues and been held in contempt of court multiple times, plans to attend events supporting Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration next week.
