Fat Joe Says Young Rappers ‘Got Some Weird Sh*t Going’
Veteran Rapper Fat Joe is a little “confused” by the music younger rappers are releasing.
During a recent interview with Complex’s Jordan Rose, Fat Joe spoke on how the rap genre has changed over the years and said,
“I encourage the youth, but some of the sh*t they’re doing, I just don’t know what it is. I’m just really confused. I’ve sat in traffic with the youth, and I felt like they playing devil music right next to me. I’m like, ‘Yo, what the f*ck? That’s hip-hop?’ They got some weird sh*t going.”

He continued,
“I don’t know how they spiraled into this particular sound. … It’s just the same beat, the same sh*t, and I’m like numb, like, Yo, this is crazy.”
During the interview, Fat Joe also made it clear that he has no plans on making a drill song with younger artists anytime soon.
However, he ended on a positive note and said,
“But I salute the youth and everything they do. If you’re positive, you’re getting money, you’re bringing your contributions, creativity, I love you, I’m happy for you.”
What are your thoughts on younger rappers?
