RHOP’s Mia Thornton Says Navigating Gordon Thornton’s Bipolar Disorder Has Brought ‘Unexpected Blessings To Our Marriage’

Mia Thornton is reflecting on the challenges and growth that come with living alongside Bipolar Disorder in her marriage. Her estranged husband Gordon Thornton previously revealed he was diagnosed with the condition.

The RHOP star shared on X (formerly Twitter):

“This season of our lives has been one of profound growth, reflection, and transformation. Living alongside bipolar disorder has brought both unique challenges and unexpected blessings to our marriage.”

Mia Thornton detailed the struggles of managing the unpredictability of mood swings, emotional highs and lows, and the strain it places on daily life:

“There have been moments of fear, frustration, and uncertainty as we navigated the complexities of this condition together.”

Despite these challenges, Mia Thornton highlighted the strength she and her husband have found in their relationship:

“Through these challenges, we’ve discovered immense strength… Bipolar disorder has deepened our empathy and compassion for one another. It has taught us to communicate more openly, to lean on each other during difficult times, and to celebrate the small victories.”

She continued,

“Perhaps the greatest lesson this season has brought is the reminder that love is not about perfection but about showing up for one another, even when things are hard.”

This post comes less than a day after Mia took to X to blame Gordon Thornton, for introducing their son’s paternity storyline on RHOP. She also shared text messages between them, seemingly portraying Gordon Thornton as unpredictable.
