New York Man Uses A.I. Lawyer To Argue Employment Lawsuit, Judge Shuts It Down Mid-Hearing
This was not your average day in court.
A 74-year-old man appeared before the New York State Supreme Court’s Appellate Division using an AI-generated avatar to argue his employment lawsuit. The virtual figure, featuring a synthetic face and voice, was created by a San Francisco tech company.
He did not inform the court ahead of time. Once the justices realized the speaker was not a real person, they stopped the hearing. Justice Sallie Manzanet-Daniels called out the lack of transparency and ended the presentation.
The clip is now going viral and sparking debate about the role of AI in the courtroom. ? (VIA: Global News)
